Welcome to Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan!

Establishing Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan is inspired by the mission and vision of the present Government of India–to work with Khadi in its innovative embodiment to generate rural employment.
To promote employment among poverty-struck people living in rural and semi-urban areas of India, Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan came up with a unique model through Khadi Solar Charkha project. In an effort to revive Khadi and provide the poor with various employment opportunities through solar charkhas, we established the Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan in June 2016. Our Organisation aims at manufacturing khadi organically be it from cotton fibre or other eco-friendly and locally available resources like banana leaves or milk. Using solar charkhas and solar looms ensure the continuous workflow in the various steps that involve in producing Khadi fabric.

About Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan

Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan or BHKGS, promoted by Bhartiya Micro Credit (BMC), is a Society endeavouring to promote the Khadi development and alleviating poverty through direct and indirect intervention, support and services. The BHKGS is registered under the Society Act-1860, (Registration No. is - 688, 1-179788) and is empanelled with Khadi and Village Industries Commission or KVIC.
Bhartiya Harit Khadi is a nationwide skilling and employment generation movement. Its self- sustainable model aims at creating a chain of employment for not just a handful people but over millions, especially poor women from rural and semi-urban India. The new user-friendly charkha is also in sync with the Central Government's aim to attract more artisans (especially the disabled) to the dying craft of Khadi spinning.

Training-cum-Production Centre in Khanwan Village of Bihar

BHKGS came into existence with an idea of Honourable Minister of State, MSME, Shri Giriraj Singh Ji, to promote Khadi in its new green embodiment. Honourable Minister Shri Giriraj Singh ji has adopted the village Khanwan, Nawada, as the model village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna and BHKGS, thereafter, decided to open its first Training-cum-Production Centre at Khanwan.
With the idea of promoting rural employment among poor women and strengthening themselves on social and economic fronts, BHKGS decided to work on Khadi; the first project being in Khanwan, Nawada in Bihar. The field trials of solarised charkhas in Khanwan have been encouraging. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises these charkhas have the potential to be a force multiplier for the economy.
